Finding Ugandan beer from the source - Nile Special Lager. A 6 day itinerary

November 2019 was the beginning of Africa through beer out of South Africa. Together with SAB World of Beer we ran a competition to encourage South Africans to visit Africas only beer museum in Newtown Johannesburg. The winners got a chance to travel to Uganda with me as their guide discovering the beers in Uganda from the source of the Nile.  I have a 6-day itinerary for your adventures in East Africas adventure capital. Visit Africas' ONLY Beer Museum - SAB World of Beer

November marked the first ever #AfricaThroughBeer experience in Uganda where in collaboration with SAB world of beer we hosted a group of 5 winners from South Africa who traveled with us to Uganda to explore East Africa’s adventure capital, find amazing brews and learning more about beer.   Some South African and international brews during a beer tasting. The winners had to visit SAB World of beer for a beer tour in order to stand a chance to visit Uganda with us. Tasting some Umqombothi (isiZulu traditional beer) from a traditional calabash as part of the beer tour. SAB World of Beer is Africa’s only beer destination. Sao Tome and Principe - Things to know.

Landing at the Sao Tome International Airport.  Sao Tome and Principe are Islands on the Gulf of Guinea (part of Atlantic Ocean). They are 2 volcanic islands. Sao Tome is the largest with the Capital city being named after the country - Sao Tome. The local currency is the Sao Tome Dobra (STD).  The main language spoken on the Islands is Portuguese. The local languages are dialects of Creol e, Angola,  a nd Tonga. The official language of Sao Tome and Principe is Portuguese.  Principe is where 10% of the population of Sao Tome and Principe live and it’s a World Heritage site.  Sao Tome and Principe is Africa’s smallest country. Majority of the population belongs to the Roman Catholic Church with Traditional African religious practices and beliefs widespread, even among adherents of other faiths.  You can only access the island from Lisbon in Portugal (Flight goes via Accra), Accra, Luanda or Libreville.
